Fred A. Klausing, 70, of Lebanon, died Aug. 29, 2005, at home. A funeral mass was held Sept. 3, at St. Edward's Catholic Church. Burial was at the Lebanon I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
He was born Jan. 19, 1935, in Van Wert, Ohio, the son of Alois and Marguerite (Wurst) Klausing. He lived in Ohio until moving to California when he was 18. He married Mary Crisman on Feb. 9, 1955, in Compton, Calif. For the most part they lived in Garden Grove, Calif., before moving to Albany in 1970 and Lebanon in 1987. Mary died on April 30, 2004.
He worked for 17 years as a production control planner at Todd Shipyards in San Pedro, Calif., 16 years as Maintenance Engineer at Samaritan Albany General Hospital and several years as a millwright before retiring in January 1997. He was a member of St. Edward's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Survivors are sons Jeffery of Lebanon and Russ and Tim, both of Albany; brothers Vern and Clarence, both of Van Wert, Ohio; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Contributions may be made to St Vincent DePaul of Lebanon and sent in care of Huston-Jost Funeral Home, 86 W. Grant St. Lebanon, OR 97355.
