Ervin J. Klausing, 83, died at 2:40 p.m. Oct. 10, 1999 at Van Wert County Hospital, Van Wert. He was born May 21, 1916 in Delphos to Aloysious and Margaret Wurst Klausing. On Oct. 10, 1940, he married Katherine Capper, who died Jan. 3, 1977. On Nov.26, 1977, he married Dorothy Poling, who died, April 15, 1998. Mr. Klausing retired from Borden Foods, Van Wert, and had a ceramic tile business. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Van Wert. He was a member of American Legion Post 178 and a life member of the Loyal Order of Moose, both in Van Wert. He was an Air Force veteran of WW II. Survivors include two sons, Donald (Katherine) Klausing of Seattle, and Gary (Linda) Etzler of Hubbard Lakes, Mich.; three daughters, Sue A. (Richard) Stokes and Glenda (Kent) Schaadt, both of Middle Point, and Debra (Dwight) Hitchcock of Van Wert; five brothers, Lavern and Clarence, both of Van Wert; Elmer of San Diego, Paul of Hot Springs, Calif.,and Fred of Lebanon, Ore.; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, his twin Ernest and Bob. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at , St. Mary's Catholic Church, Van Wert. The Rev. Joseph Schmelzer wil officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery, Middle Point. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert, where a Scripture service will be held at 7:45 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Angel Foundation or the charity of the donor's choice.
