Content from a Delphos-newspaper in October 1915 under the headline "Passes away under advanced age":
Suffering of Benjamin Klausing, a well known resident of near Delphos, is ended by grim repaer after long and waery illness - funeral to be held from St. John church Tuesday morning.

Death came to relieve the suffering of Benjamin Klausing, highly respected resident residing three and a half miles north-east of Delphos, Saturday night, and he fell into a peaceful slumber, to awaken in the world without pain or sorrow. Mr. Klausing had been ill for nearly a year, suffering from cancer in the stomach and had been bedfast for the past two months. The end came at 6:45 o'clock Saturday evening.
During his illlness, Mr. Klausing had suffered intensely, but had manifested wonderful fortitude and cheerfulness during his weary hours of pain. He was very considerate of those about him and never complained. In his passing the family loses a kind husband and a devoted father.
The deceased was born in Cincinnati on August 20, 1840, and was 75 years, 2 months and 3 days old. When he was an infant of three weeks, his parents removed from Cincinnati to a small town in Illinois, where they remained until the deceased was a boy of twelve years. His parents both died within a year, leaving three children orphans. Mr. Klausing remained in the Illinois town for two years after the death of his parents, when he came to Delphos, and has since been a resident of this vicinity, honored and respected.
In the spring of 1867, Mr. Klausing married Miss Clara Fortman, at St. John's Catholic church here. No children were born to this union, but five orphans were given a home and reared to manhood and womanhood. The children given a home are: Henry Osting, living north of Delphos; Jos. Klausing, Landeck; Mrs. Conrad Jettinghoff, deceased; Ella Horgan, St. Louis, Mo.; Jos. Reil, Toledo, deceased. Mrs. Klausing died December 24, 1880. In 1882 Mr. Klausing was married to Mary Catherine Lammers, who survives. To this union were born fourteen children, three of whom died in infancy. The surviving children are: Henry Klausing, Howell, Mich.; Anthony and Benjamin Klausing, Mrs. Mary Rahrig, Mrs. Elizabeth Clements, Mrs. Ben Brocker, Delphos; Aloys J., John, Miss Agnes and Hubert Klausing, at home. Seventeen grand-children are also living.
The deceased was a devent Catholic, a member of the St. John's church, of this city. He was also affiliated with the St. John's Society. The funeral will be held from St. John's Catholic church Tuesday morning, at 9 o'clock and the body laid to rest in St. John's cemetery.
